The story “maximum fun” is in the foreshadowing collection

I don’t think about “interesting stories” for the pleasure of analysis, nor for the pleasure of criticizing the work of others.

This is because I want to think, “I was able to make it quite interesting, even though I am,” rather than thinking, “It turned out to be a very uninteresting content.”

To be honest, most of the time it doesn’t go well, and I tend to create with only the obsession of “I’ve made it this far, so I’ll complete it to the end!”

I think that I want to be conscious of “fun” from the reflection and complex.

There are many different types of stories, and different readers have different tastes.

So, of course, it is assumed that there are many correct answers, but in general, it is thought that there is a common tendency in works that are “interesting”.

One of them is “vividity of foreshadowing recovery”.

From the beginning of the story,

  • casual element
  • tale element

I think that many people feel that it is interesting when they are sprinkled with the story, and when they are able to expand the story’s furoshiki and see how it “connects” with consistency in the final development.

This is the so-called “recovery of hints”.

Unfortunately, there are exceptional genius works that make you think, “That was also interesting,” even though the furoshiki was left unfolded and nothing could be collected.

I think that this is literally something that only a genius can do, and I, as an ordinary person, enjoy it as a spectator, but warn myself not to imitate it as a creator.

In fact, even in novels, I feel that there are many works in which the first half is unquestionably interesting, but the second half suddenly stalls and is disappointing.

I think that this tendency may be strong in works that started writing as a newspaper serialization due to their nature.

The dragon head and snake tail are useless.

There is a flow of time in appreciating stories, unlike paintings. You will have to watch the episodes in order from beginning to end.

Then, of course, the “impression of the part seen later” will overwrite the “impression of the part seen before”. Because new memories are stronger.

As a result, the last scene and the development of the ending will leave a strong impression when you finish watching it.

Therefore, a work that you thought was “interesting” at the end of the game by vividly collecting foreshadowing will be remembered as “it was an interesting work” after you saw it.

I always end up with a poor start to the story due to poor organization.

In an attempt to cover that (although it’s not actually covered), the early footage is elaborated with special effects synthesis, etc., and I’m struggling to keep the audience’s interest.

However, the so-called “grasping” is also important, but what is really important is the impression of the final stage as mentioned above.

Even if the first half is subtle, it is possible to recover the image in the final stage.

On the contrary, no matter how attractive the first half is, if the final stage is a bud, the whole image will be remembered as “boring”.

It’s an extreme example, but it’s often said that recent movies have too long staff rolls at the end.

I totally agree with you.

I understand that you put in detailed telops as a way of respecting the people involved, but when you see a long ending with two songs that don’t seem to match the work at all, when you leave the movie theater,

  • It was a movie with an unnecessarily long ending.
  • When I ran to the toilet, it was crowded and I panicked

The impression becomes the strongest work. Is it okay to plant the impression of the work in such a way?

Find an accidental connection and sublimate it into a foreshadowing

The question is, “Can a mediocre person make a foreshadowing?”

I’m on the side of someone who says, “I don’t have any particular talent, but I want to create,” so I want to rely on logical methodologies rather than sensitivity.

When it comes to the foreshadowing of the story, it seems that a brilliant writer has meticulously designed it in advance.

If so, it is very difficult to imitate it.

Foreshadowing does not work at the end unless it is well hidden.

When the mediocre tries to set it up, the first punchline is that “Oh, this is surely a foreshadowing that will be used in this way at the end”.

What I want to use here is the element of “coincidence”.

Although they are in different fields, “planned contingency theory” and “network theory” are also being talked about because the element of “coincidence” is so important that it cannot be ignored.

If a genius makes 100% of the story elements with only his own ideas, you can hardly expect unexpectedness.

However, if you create an environment in which “coincidental ideas” can easily be mixed in, at least it seems that you can break the “ordinary pre-established harmony”. What do you think about the idea of searching for “seeds of foreshadowing” among them?

Treasure Trove “Urban Legend”

Thinking about the foreshadowing is a very difficult task in the sense that you can’t just rely on your senses.

If it’s not logical, it won’t be interesting.

I would like to refer to “urban legend” there.

For example, there are many urban legends about famous anime movies that say, “Isn’t there actually such a setting behind the scenes?”

Perhaps the creators of the work didn’t think about such a setting, and the viewers put in a fictitious setting as a so-called “afterthought”, but the way it fits is wonderful and can be enjoyed in many cases.

Some people even swallow the “conspiracy theories” that are circulating in the world because of the splendor of “requirement”.

“Expanded interpretation” and “stretching” are only harmful in the real world, but they seem to be great weapons in the world of creation.

Aim to be a “Fun Lie” and a “Trickster Master”

There are a certain number of people who can’t enjoy novels and movies by evaluating them as “impossible in reality.”

At least for creators, they are not “entertainment partners” and can be ignored.

The basics of creation should be “fun lies” and “for people who can enjoy fun lies”.

If the kimo of the story, which is a fun lie, is “retrieving hints”, then referring to the urban legend “kojitsuke”, you can proceed from inferring the “background settings” hidden in the story you came up with. Isn’t it good?

If you become a “kojitsuke master”, you may be able to become an MVP in the world of story creation.

I’m glad if you can use it as a reference.
