遺跡のミニチュアセット制作-04・神聖文字づくり

遺跡を遺跡らしく見せるのは絵文字

2017年4月に予定している、「映画工房カルフのように」さんとのコラボ企画、「ＳＦＸ特撮映画ワークショップ」のためのミニチュアセット制作の続き。I will introduce the miniature set production procedure used for collaboration project “SFX movie workshop” planned in April 2017.

これは、版画用のゴム板を彫刻して作った、絵文字の型。This is a type of pictogram made by engraving rubber plate for printmaking.

マヤ文明の遺跡に彫られている、神聖文字（らしき）ものです。It is modeled on hieroglyphics, carved in the ruins of Maya civilization.

本来であれば、まずフォルモ粘土などで原型を作り、石膏か専用の型取り剤で型を作るところですが、今回はラフに、直接凹版を彫って作っています。Simply carve an intaglio on a rubber plate and make a mold.

これにフォルモ粘土を押し付けて、乾燥してから剥がします。After pressing the formo clay against the mold, dry it and remove it.

はみ出した無駄な部分をカットし、これを、木工用ボンドで発泡スチロールの遺跡セットに接着していきます。Cut the useless clay that protrudes from the mold and bond it to the ruin model of Styrofoam with waterborne bond.

石造りの遺跡の構造や形は、普通の建築物とさほど変わりがなくて大して面白味が無いのですが、独特な神聖文字などの装飾が加わることによって、グッと遺跡らしく（ゴマカシがきくように）なります。The structure and shape of the ruins are not much different from those of modern buildings, but by adding decorations such as unique hieroglyphics, the atmosphere of the ruins can be expressed.

このあと、いかに発泡スチロールの質感を消して、石の質感を表現するかに苦心する事になります。In the subsequent process, we will devise a way to express the texture of the stone by canceling the texture of Styrofoam.
